At Luxe Clean, quality is our foundation. And that all starts with hiring. Our recruitment process is among the most selective in Detroit’s cleaning industry, and that’s intentional.
Each week, we receive dozens of applications and hold over 100 interviews — but fewer than 1% of applicants are hired. Here’s how we filter for the best of the best:
Step 1: Background & Identity Verification
Client safety and brand integrity come first. Every applicant must pass a comprehensive background screening. We require valid government-issued ID, verified address details, and supporting documentation for past work experience.
Step 2: Experience Check
We only consider cleaners with at least six months of verifiable experience in residential or hospitality settings. Our clients expect high-end results, so we only work with individuals who’ve already proven themselves in professional environments.
Step 3: In-Depth Interview
Our team conducts a structured, face-to-face interview to assess soft skills and service readiness. We’re looking for more than cleaning ability — we evaluate attitude, professionalism, and clear communication, including English fluency.
Step 4: Live Cleaning Assessment
Qualified candidates are invited to complete a test clean in a real-world environment. A senior staff member inspects the results based on strict quality standards. Many don’t pass this stage — and that’s the point.
Step 5: Reference Verification
Finalists must submit two written references. We personally verify each one by phone to ensure consistency and reliability. Trust isn’t assumed — it’s confirmed.
One-Month Trial Period
Even after they’re hired, cleaners begin with a 30-day probation. During this time, client feedback is tracked, and a 90%+ satisfaction rating is required to remain on the team.
Only a tiny fraction of applicants make it through. And of those who do, only the most consistent stay long-term.
